Barbra Ramos

Barbra Ramos is the assistant director of media relations and served as the inaugural assistant director of equity, diversity and inclusion communications under UCLA Strategic Communications. Through her media relations work and writing, she supports initiatives focused on inclusive excellence and the storytelling around the diverse communities at UCLA, Los Angeles, and beyond with campus partners such as the Institute of American Cultures and the ethnic studies centers and departments, as well as the Center for the Study of Women, the Initiative to Study Hate, and the Hollywood Diversity Report. A member of StratComm’s EDI Council, she also leads the production of heritage and identity month content packages. She previously spent a decade at the Asian American Studies Center promoting research, publications and programming focused on Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities, activism and social change.
