Dr. Noopur Raval is an assistant professor at UCLA in the Department of Information Studies. She is a feminist scholar and educator in the fields of Science and Technology Studies, HCI, Postcolonial History and Critical Theory. Raval obtained her PhD in Informatics from UC Irvine (2020). She has worked at the Wikimedia Foundation, Microsoft Research, AI Now Institute at NYU, and UC Santa Cruz in the past. She has studied hi and low-tech labor and the politics of AI in majority world settings with a focus on how technology contributes to projects of the good life.
